Options for pipes for the Monte Carlo
This page is up to serve as a reference to exhaust parts for the Monte
Carlo and will be added to as time goes on.
Here are Flowmaster tailpipes on an 87 Monte Carlo. These are the
tailpipes Flowmaster makes in 2.5" with stock "straight back" Super Sport
style exhaust. Modifications to them are that the last half of them has
been chromed and a "slash cut" was added to replicate stock SS exhaust
exits.1

Unfortunately, SLP has discontinued their headers. These were 1 & 5/8 inch
stainless steel headers. In comparison, Edelbrock T.E.S. headers are 1 & 1/2
inch and mild steel. Here we see the drivers side header next to a stock '87 manifold.2

Passengers side showing the "Tri-Y" design. It should be noted these headers have all
emissions hookups except for this side didn't have space for the EFE valve. Nor did
they have an exemptions number for use on smog controlled vehicles. Oh well. They're
gone now.2
Hooker 2050 (not sure if the -1 is necessary) headers. 1 & 5/8" and 50
state emissions legal.3
